Bio-organic fertilizer production line: How does the disc granulator handle the task of “Low-temperature microbial protection”?

The core of bio-organic fertilizer lies in its functional bacteria, but most strains become inactive above 60℃. How to preserve the activity of these bacteria during the granulation process is a key issue for bio-organic fertilizer production lines, and the disc granulator demonstrates a unique advantage due to its inherent low-temperature properties. The disc granulator uses a tilting, rotating disc to agglomerate powdery materials, allowing them to naturally form spheres at a suitable moisture content. This wet granulation process does not generate mechanical extrusion heat, and the material temperature is maintained between room temperature and 40-50℃, naturally meeting the low-temperature requirements of bio-fertilizer granulation. To ensure the disc granulator is suitable for bio-fertilizer production, specific adjustments to the process are necessary. First, moisture control is crucial. Before granulation, the material moisture content must be stabilized between 25% and 35%. Excessive moisture easily leads to clumping, while excessive dryness makes sphere formation difficult. Secondly, the method of adding the microbial agent is important. It can be premixed with the powder before granulation, or added during the granulation process via a spray system; the latter reduces early losses. Furthermore, parameters such as the disc's inclination angle and rotation speed need to be fine-tuned according to the pelleting characteristics of the microbial-containing material. This ensures pellet roundness while shortening granulation time and minimizing microbial loss. From the perspective of the entire production line, the disc granulator has a simple structure, intuitive operation, and controllable return material, making it particularly suitable for small and medium-sized bio-organic fertilizer processing plants. The produced pellets are packaged after low-temperature drying (≤50℃) and sieving. The entire process is temperature-controlled, ensuring a high survival rate of the microorganisms. In bio-organic fertilizer production, the disc granulator is not only a shaping tool but also a "protector of microorganisms"—it uses a gentle physical pelleting method to build a temperature barrier for the functional microbial community, allowing the bio-fertilizer to truly "come alive."
