Straw Crusher

Straw Crusher

Straw crushers are key equipment in organic fertilizer production for the pretreatment of straw-based auxiliary materials. Crop straw is an important carbon source and moisture regulator for composting fermentation. Before entering the fermentation tank, it must be crushed to shorten long straws to a suitable length to ensure thorough mixing with livestock manure. Depending on the blade structure, straw crushers can crush straw to different finenesses to meet the particle size requirements of various fermentation processes.

Working Principle

Straw material enters the crushing chamber through a feeding conveyor. The high-speed rotating blade rotor shears and impacts the material. The material is repeatedly crushed between the rotating blades and the fixed blades, while simultaneously moving along the crushing chamber towards the discharge end. The crushed material is discharged through a screen under the suction of a fan or gravity. Material that does not meet the required fineness is retained by the screen for further crushing. The cutting force generated by the high-speed rotation of the blades effectively cuts the straw fibers.

Equipment Composition

Feeding Device: Belt conveyor or chain conveyor evenly feeds straw into the crusher.

Casing and Liners: Steel plate casing with replaceable wear-resistant liners.

Blade Rotor: Multiple sets of rotating blades mounted on the main shaft; blades are made of wear-resistant alloy steel.

Fixed Blades and Screen: Fixed blades and rotating blades form a shearing action; the screen controls the fineness of the output material.

Transmission and Frame: Motor and belt drive; steel frame with shock absorption device.

Applicable Raw Material Requirements

Raw Material Types: Corn straw, rice straw, wheat straw, cotton straw, bean straw, forage straw, and other crop straws.

Moisture Content: The moisture content of the straw entering the machine should be below 20%. Excessive moisture content increases fiber toughness, reduces crushing efficiency, and easily clogs the screen.

Pre-treatment: Bundled straw must be unbundled first. Long straw should be pre-cut into sections before entering the machine.

Impurity Control: Stones, iron, and other hard objects are strictly prohibited from being mixed in, as they will severely damage the blade edges. Iron removal treatment should be performed before feeding.
