Application of fertilizer granulator in NPK fertilizer production line granulation

2025/04/18

In the NPK fertilizer production line, the fertilizer granulator is undoubtedly the core equipment, playing a decisive role in the final form and quality of the fertilizer.

The operation of a fertilizer granulator begins with the processing of various basic fertilizer raw materials. The raw materials of NPK fertilizers contain various chemical components such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, etc., with different forms. The fertilizer granulator can integrate these powdered or small granular raw materials. By applying specific mechanical forces, the raw materials aggregate with each other, gradually forming regular particles.

Disc granulator is a common type. During the process of disc granulation, the disc rotates at a certain speed. The raw materials are fed into a rotating disk, and as the disk rotates, the raw materials continuously roll and aggregate at the edge of the disk under the combined action of centrifugal force, frictional force, and other forces. At the same time, by spraying an appropriate amount of adhesive, the viscosity between the raw materials is enhanced, promoting the formation and growth of particles. After a period of rolling, the particles gradually form and roll down from the edge of the disc, completing the granulation process. The fertilizer particles produced by this granulation method are relatively uniform and have high roundness.

Another commonly used one is the roller extrusion granulator. It utilizes strong extrusion force to extrude pre treated raw materials through molds, forming columnar or strip-shaped materials. Then, these columnar materials are cut into particles of appropriate length by a cutting device. The advantage of an extrusion granulator is that it can process raw materials with low viscosity, and produce particles with high strength, which are not easily broken and suitable for long-distance transportation and storage.

The fertilizer granulator is of great significance for improving the quality of NPK fertilizers. Firstly, granular fertilizers are easier to store and transport. Compared to powdered fertilizers, granular fertilizers are less prone to clumping and leakage, reducing losses during storage and transportation. Secondly, during the fertilization process, granular fertilizers can be applied more evenly in the soil, avoiding the problem of local fertilizer concentration being too high or too low, which is conducive to the balanced absorption of nutrients by crops and improves fertilizer utilization efficiency.

Moreover, the fertilizer granulator can adjust the size, shape, and strength of the particles according to different needs. According to different crops and soil conditions, the most suitable fertilizer particles can be produced to meet diverse market demands. The fertilizer granulator, with its unique functions, has become an indispensable core shaper in the NPK fertilizer production line, promoting the efficient development of the fertilizer industry.
